Medical Informatics Centre

Medical informatics has to do with all aspects of understanding and promoting the effective organization, analysis, management, and use of information in health care. In addition, as professionals involved at the intersection of information and technology and health care, those in medical informatics have historically tended to be engaged in the research, development, and evaluation side of things, and in studying and teaching the theoretical and methodological underpinnings of data applications in health care. However, today medical informatics also counts among its profession many whose activities are focused on dimensions that include the administration and everyday collection and use of information in health care.

The prime aim of the Medical Informatics Centre is to update the knowledge and reckon new ideas and technologies among medical fraternity. The services provided by the Medical Informatics Centre are extremely useful to doctors, research scholars, scientists and Allied Health Science students. a centre.

ON-LINE SERVICE (MEDLARS)

MEDLARS Service at Medical Informatics Centre was an ON LINE Service, accessible through Satellite. Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System (MEDLARS) is one of the world’s largest medical bibliographical databases, consisting of millions of medical reference in each database through V-SAT.

A dedicated 2 MBPS line is available for browsing.
BROWSING CHARGES: Rs.20/- per hour.
