Virtual Library

Virtual Library also known as a Digital Library or an Electronic Library may be defined as the online facility provided by a conventional library to read books and access other facilities or it may mean a website which offers links to various sites with a large store of information in a catalogued or archived form. It is generally a part of a network with linkages to other Libraries providing Universal access to information through Virtual Libraries.

The Tamilnadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University being the mother Medical University in Tamil Nadu. Virtual Library for the benefit of its user community. Virtual Library was formed in 2005.

The prime aim of the Virtual Library is to update the knowledge and reckon new ideas and technologies among medical fraternity. The services provided by the Virtual Library are extremely useful to doctors, research scholars, scientists and Allied Health Science students.

Virtual Library facilitates access to valuable and varied Medical Databases, Research papers & Dissertations and Thesis, Invention/ Developments/Updates in the relevant fields. An equal access has been extended to both rural & urban community. An user can search, view, save and print any piece of data/information at an affordable cost. This has also enabled to reduce the physical space taken up by library materials. Currently access to this Virtual Library is opened to all via its University website www.tnmgrmu.ac.in
