As per the direction of Ministry of Environment and Forest, all hospitals and laboratories were following Bio-Medical Waste (Management and Handling) Rules, 1998, for emphasize on segregation, packaging, transportation and storage, treatment and disposal of biomedical waste. According to this rule, the Biomedical waste is categorized into 10 different types which is easy for its treatment and disposal.
Ministry of Environment and Forest has released new Biomedical Waste management rules in March 2016, directing all the hospitals and laboratories to adhere to.
The aim of this seminar is to update our knowledge on the Biomedical Waste Management-2016 guidelines.
