Many facets of a woman were acknowledged by having many events to commemorate the International Women’s Day celebration at the Tamil Nadu Dr.MGR Medical University.
Health Screening Camp
Date: 8th March, 2012 Venue: The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University
A health screening camp was organized by the Tamil Nadu Dr.MGR Medical University for all the employees of this organization. The camp was organized in association with Dr. Mohan’s Diabetes Specialties Centre. Lunch was provided for all the staff of this University, sponsored by Dr. Mohan’s Diabetes Specialties Centre. About 283 members were screened during the camp.

International Women’s day Ceremony
On the eve of the International Women’s Day, the University organized a gala ceremony in the Senate Hall of the University, where many women, who have contributed to the development of the society, were honored with the “Outstanding Woman Achiever Award”. 36 eminent women in the medical category and 11 achievers in social category were honored on this day.

Lectures by Specialists on Women Health Issues
Date: 9th March, 2012 Venue: Senate Hall, the Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University
Lectures pertaining to common issues in women health such as Gynecology, Diet and Bone health were arranged for the women staff of this University. The lectures were delivered by eminent speakers.
